Weeks 3 and 4 term 4 2016

Welcome to our blogspot! Here are two weeks worth of memories from our lovely class for you to enjoy - my new laptop is now up and running, BIG thanks to Laura for getting everything going for me, the chocolate will be with her next week!
Here is Cooper, learning to use a whiteboard to write his name.

And Jeremy, who will be joining us very soon!

We love having Kindy visitors who come to see us and share our mat times.

Soon it will be athletics - we began learning how to do high jump although it was raining so this was an indoor session. We must land on our feet - this is tricky!

The very beginning of calendar art.

Sharing.

Creating.

Oh wow, we are planting up our New World Little gardens!

Oliver was fascinated by his seed mat.

So was Cooper.

Welcome Cooper!

Welcome Eva.

Boradgreen Kapa Haka group came to perform for us.

Tyler busy counting.

Zak making 9.
Rusty finding out how many beads he can fit on a string.

Brooklyn is making pairs and counting so carefully.

"There are way too many on here, Mrs Savill!"

We joined with Kindy to hear about wearing hearing aids.

This is Wendy who is hearing impaired, she explained about her aids to the children who were totally engrossed .

Morning tea in the sunshine.

We can work out how to add two numbers together to make a new one with our blocks.

Shhh!  Careful one to one counting going on here.

Wow, we have all made 8, 5 and 3 made 8!

Riley was so proud to make a house and garden with his new friend Noah.

Next step with our calendar art is weaving the sea.

Long jump is another technique we are mastering - one foot take off, two feet to land on.

Oh wow, high jump perfectly landed!

We are so fortunate to have Bronwen helping us in our room, here she as reading an afternoon story to the children.

Next step calendar art, making our fish.

Carefully glueing.

Nearly done, just waiting for the seaweed.

Welcome Noah!

Craig Smth, "Wonky Donkey" singer songwriter - what a super performance !

He even brought puppets for all his wonderful songs.

Discovery time - dressing up.

Ewan made an amazing car!

Show and tell - Leo brought lads of things to share with his friends.

Gosh Ruby is such a great helper she has filled a sticker chart already!!!

We began collaborative reading this week with 4 teachers, 2 teacher aides and reading across the whole of Seaview block - here we are sharing how this will look.

Let's get that seaweed on!

Learning how to throw a tennis ball over arm - starting low, muscle man, throw!

Ash has filled a chart as well!

We were wearing pyjamas today as our jar of good choices was full up yesterday. Some children chose character costume in stead and teddies came too! What a party atmosphere, school is definitely the best party in town!

Dancing to "She'll be coming round the mountain when she comes!"

We love our new finger eyes!

Great reading focus Parker!

Eva listening to Cooper and his sight words!

When we have read with a teacher we read to a bussy - this is going brilliantly.

Tyler loves making with lego, maybe he will be an architect one day.

Our little gardens are germinating well.

Great alphabet homework last week from all my new children. Ka Pai!

Our super star this week was Rusty for improved focus. Way to go, Rusty!
